Comanche (OK) senior Jordyn Campbell has cerebral palsy, which confines him to a wheelchair. According to Campbell's mother, Jennifer Hinsley, he has never let his disability stop him. He's been a member of the school football team since freshman year, but he has not seen any playing time.
“He’s got such a big heart,” Hinsley, told KOTV. “Always has a smile on his face. Doesn’t let his disability stop him. His toughest days are, like I said, it’s mainly during football season.”
When senior Jacob Davis found out that Campbell’s goal for his senior year was to get a chance to play in a game, he took it upon himself to make that happen in their senior night game against John Marshall (OK). With the cooperation of both teams, Campbell was able to make the most of his opportunity on the field and score a touchdown.
“He’s a big part of the team,” Davis told KOTV. “He’s big moral help. He’s got a strong mind. He’s out there every day of practice.”
